Two more Malayalam films in IFFI

In addition to the seven Malayalam films already announced for screening in the Indian Panorama for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), 2008 in Goa from November 22 to December 2, two more Malayalam documentaries, namely K.R. Manoj's Memories, Movement and a Machine and Jayaraj's Vellapokkathil have been included in the non-feature film category of 21 films.

K.R. Manoj, former editor of Drishyathalam, a journal in Malayalam for film and video studies, debuted into film with Agni (short fiction) which was screened in various festivals, including IFFI 2004.

The seven Malayalam films selected in Indian Panorama section are Adoor Gopalakrishnan's Oru Pennum Randu Aanum, K.P. Kumaran's Aakashagopuram, M.G. Sasi's Adayalangal, Jayraj's Gulmohar, Mohanan's Kadhaparayumbol, Priyanandanan's Pulijanmam and T.V. Chandran's Vilapangalkkappuram. In all, 25 feature films, including 4 Tamil films (Billa, Kalloori, Kanchivaram and Mudhal Mudhal Mudhal Varai) have been selected in this section.

IFFI is organized by The Directorate of Film Festivals, New Delhi and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in collaboration with the State Government of Goa.
