Kopperundevi could well be the first instance in Tamil cinema to feature as many as 18 comedy artistes in its core cast that may be a record of sorts. The film is being directed by a newcomer, Hrushikesh Achuthan Shankar, and features the likes of Urvashi, Kovai Sarala, VTV Ganesh, Devadarshini, Singampuli, Venniradai Moorthy, Delhi Ganesh and many others.
The film had made news earlier for reports of Trisha being a part of the cast, but an official press release has dismissed that. They have admitted to have approached Trisha to play a part but now they claim that another popular actress will play that pivotal role, but her identity has been kept under wraps, to maintain suspense. The film is apparently about a group of people who find themselves in search of a treasure which is guarded by a spirit. The film will also have a 20-minute graphics extravaganza which the makers believe will enthrall the audience this summer..
