'Thalapathy's Vijay's Varisu is taking the world by storm as the family entertainer released as a grand Pongal treat is well en route to minting 250 crores in global collections and has now created a new big record in the United Kingdom. Being distributed by Ahimsa Entertainment across the UK, the popular production-distribution banner on Friday, January 20, announced that the film is now the fourth highest-grossing Tamil venture of all time. They further informed on Twitter that Varisu and Vaarasudu have collectively crossed the £750k mark at the box office, thus proving Vijay's supremacy once again with this latest grand entry into the UK top five (all-time) for a Tamil film. Earlier this week, Ahimsa Entertainment informed on social media that they hope Varisu to break into the top three highest-grossing films of all time in the UK by Monday (January 23) and it now remains to be seen how fast the film reaches that spot. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally under Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner and featuring chart-topping music by S. Thaman, the film has been receiving a staggering response in the UK and several parts of Europe, including France, with family audiences giving a double thumbs-up to Vijay's latest entertainer.
The makers of Varisu are tasting big success after the stupendous response in both Telugu and Hindi markets as well where the film's dubbed versions, Vaarasudu and Varisu, too have witnessed tremendous feedback from fans. Vijay is paired with Rashmika Mandanna for the first time and the national sensation is one of the major USPs of the film, which also has an ensemble star cast that includes names like R. Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Srikanth, Yogi Babu, Jayasudha, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, Nandini Rai, Ganesh Venkatraman, Sriman, VTV Ganesan, Bharath Reddy, Sanjana among others, while SJ Suryah makes a cameo appearance. It is also being stated that there are plans to release the Varisu deleted scenes featuring Khushbu Sundar and John Vijay.
