No movie has been so much in the news even before its launch like Asal. This Ajith starrer has been the talk of the media for both the right and wrong reasons.

Coming from the prestigious Sivaji Productions banner, Asal is Ultimate Star Ajith's 49th film. Though the movie was to be directed by Gautham Menon, now the reins are in the experienced and able hands of Saran, who has given Ajith two of his biggest career hits, Kadhal Mannan and Amarkalam. They also teamed together for Attagasam

The music was to be�composed by Harris Jayaraj, but the composer dropped out due to date issues.�But it is heard that he would be working on another film for the production house. This set the rumour mills running that Yuvanshankar Raja will handle the music, since�his music in�Ajith's Dheena,�Billa and Aegan have done very well. But this is yet to be confirmed.
