Varisu s being distributed by Ahimsa Entertainment in the United Kingdom and is also officially the highest-grosser for Vijay with £669,412 in 5 days. The production-distribution banner is tasting its second consecutive big success in less than 12 months with a Vijay-starrer after they released Beast in April last year in the U.S., which went on to become their highest outing at the box office in the States. The massive success of Varisu is being credited to family audiences coming in numbers to theatres around the world to witness Vijay in action and this time in a light-hearted role, which many have remarked to be refreshing considering he has been seen in action blockbusters over the years.
With Varisu clocking in nearly 3 hours, it had been revealed that there was a lot more that was left out on the editing table, including scenes featuring Khushbu Sundar and John Vijay, which are expected to be released as deleted scenes in the days ahead. Vijay has once again proven that he can draw audiences to cinemas with a family entertainer like Varisu, which many have said is a welcome change, with many taking to social media to express their joy at witnessing the Tamil cinema superstar in another memorable role once again.
