'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo is set to get the biggest-ever release for a Tamil film in North America as it has now been announced that the highly-anticipated mass action thriller will also be coming out on IMAX screens. This latest update for the much-awaited Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has come at a time when the film is nearing its release on October 19 and has left fans mighty excited. One of the most-awaited Tamil films of 2023, Leo marks the second time Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and the film's composer 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander have collaborated after the blockbuster, Master (2021).

Vijay's Leo coming out as a massive IMAX release in North American theatres will no doubt as a big joyous news for fans in the U.S. and Canada, who will now be waiting for more official announcements regarding the screens it will be shown. The film has been riding on massive excitement ever since it was revealed in 2022 that Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj are collaborating, with a lot of buzz surrounding whether the story will be set in the much-talked-about Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). The debate about the likelihood of Leo set in the LCU first began after the release of Kamal Haasan's Vikram (2022), which had plot elements connected to Lokesh Kanagaraj's Kaithi (2019), and the wait is now on for the Vijay-starrer to open in cinemas worldwide next month.
Leo will also see Vijay reuniting with leading Tamil actress Trisha once again after 15 years.
