In shocking news, Thai actress Nida 'Tangmo' Patcharaveerapong was found dead in the Chao Phraya river in the country's capital Bangkok last Thursday night. She was 37. The incident took place two days after she fell from a boat and her body was recovered on Saturday after a grueling 38-hour-long search around 300 metres away from the Pibulsongkram pier in the Nonthaburi province. According to reports, Patcharaveerapong fell into the river while she was on a boat trip with her manager and four other people.

Speaking to local media, a teary-eyed Dayos Detjob, Patcharaveerapong's brother, said that he had "come to take her back home", adding that the police would be carrying the rest of the investigation. Tanupat Lerttaweewit, the owner of the speedboat and Paibul Trikanchananan, the driver, have been booked for causing wrongful death by negligence. Furthermore, Lerttaweewit has been charged additionally with using a boat under an expired license. Since the unfortunate incident, authorities have been questioning all the five people present on the boat. Lerttaweewit, during the interrogation, said that Patcharaveerapong had gone to the rear end of the boat to relieve herself. It was at this time when her female friend was supposedly checking her phone while Patcharaveerapong was holding on to her legs before she fell into the water.

The Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital has conducted an autopsy, which has revealed that there was sand in Patcharaveerapong's lungs. However, these claims have been dismissed by forensic experts, who state that it would be difficult for sand to enter considering she was wearing a bodysuit at the time of her falling into the water. Panida Sirayutthayothin, Patcharaveerapong's mother, has hinted that her daughter's death may not have been due to an accident, Thai PBS World reported. She said, "Someone might not have been pleased that Tangmo was there."
