Terry Fox Run: Run for a good cause

The Terry Fox Run, the world-famous non-competitive charity event held in memory of Canadian athlete and cancer activist Terry Fox's famous 'Marathon of Hope' (1980), will be held in Chennai for the first time at the IIT-M campus (Guindy) on August 30.

Organized by Akash Dube in association with the Chennai Terry Fox Run committee, the charity run is organized to spread cancer awareness and raise funds to support cancer research in India.

Registration for runners will begin at 8 a.m. There is no fee for participating. Each runner will receive a badge and participation certificate. The participants must dress suitably and bring water.

The run of 6 km will be within the IIT campus. The distance can be covered running, cycling and rollerblading or any other non-motorized way you can come up with. Route maps will be available. This is not a race, so everybody is a winner. So make sure you participate and show that you care!
