Leading Tamil actor-producer Suriya's next big project, the tentatively titled Suriya 43, will have its first major announcement made on Thursday, October 26 at 4 p.m. The team of the upcoming film informed fans on X on Tuesday evening, October 24, at 9 p.m. by dropping a poster with the text "43 hours to go" along with a four o'clock emoji, which has since received a massive response in quick time. Fans have been waiting for quite a long time for the Suriya 43 announcement and this latest update on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami has no doubt come as a huge surprise, with many expressing their joy on social media.

There has been considerable buzz around Suriya 43 as it is being stated that the film is going to be directed by acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Sudha Kongara and will feature songs and a background score composed by blockbuster music director G. V. Prakash Kumar. There has been tremendous hype surrounding the much-anticipated film considering both of them had already hinted at their reunion with Suriya after their Soorarai Pottru (2020), which won five awards at the 68th National Film Awards in 2022. The critically acclaimed film earned Suriya, Sudha Kongara, and GV Prakash National Awards for Best Actor, Best Feature Film, and Best Background Score, respectively, with the trio expected to recreate the same magic in Suriya 43 once again.
Back in July, GV Prakash extended his birthday wishes to Sudha Kongara on X, while congratulating the filmmaker for her work on the Soorarai Pottru Hindi remake starring Akshay Kumar, and also expressed his excitement for her next venture. He posted, "Happy birthday dear @Sudha_Kongara …. Waiting for the world to witness the magic u have done with #SooraraiPottru Hindi version which is going to stun Bollywood … and ur next after that in tamil which is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (sic)" Earlier, Sudha Kongara revealed at the Suyasakthi Virudhugal Awards in 2022 that she has already signed a film with Suriya, and fans will now be waiting with bated breath for the highly-anticipated Suriya 43 announcement to drop later this week. Suriya, on the other hand, is currently busy filming the ambitious action film, Kanguva, under hit filmmaker Siva's direction, while also being attached to acclaimed National Award winner Vetri Maaran's Vaadivaasal.
