Two-time National Award winner Dhanush surprised fans on Tuesday, October 24, on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami by sharing a photo from his next big film, Captain Miller, directed by Arun Matheswaran of Rocky (2021) and Saani Kaayidham (2022) fame. The leading Tamil actor took to Instagram to post a picture from the upcoming film in which he is seen dressed in a brown shirt and black trousers and sporting a thick long beard while holding the musical instrument damru in front of a wall bearing a portrait drawing of Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin. Posting the photo, Dhanush wrote in his caption: "Stay calm and wait for the music to begin #captainmiller" (sic), hinting that the much-awaited first single from the highly-anticipated film is all set for its release soon.
Captain Miller will feature music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, who won the National Award for Best Background Score at the 68th National Film Awards in 2022, for his work in the Suriay-starrer Soorarai Pottru (2020). The period action drama is set during the pre-Independence era and is the seventh collaboration for the blockbuster composer with Dhanush after their previous films Polladhavan (2007), Aadukalam (2011), Mayakkam Enna (2011), Asuran (2019), Maaran (2022), and Vaathi (2023), and fans expect yet another memorable album from the highly-successful Tamil cinema duo.
Dhanush's latest Captain Miller update has come after popular Telugu filmmaker Venky Kudumula recently revealed that he got a chance to listen to the first single track titled 'Killer Killer' from GV Prakash during a personal music session informing that the song sung by Arunraja Kamaraj featuring lyrics penned by Kaber Vasuki is "mindblowing". Fans will now be waiting for the first single update to be announced in the days ahead considering there is tremendous buzz surrounding the film, which is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on December 15. Captain Miller had an action-packed teaser released on Dhanush's birthday, which showed him paired with youth sensation Priyanka Arul Mohan, and Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, Maanagaram star Sundeep Kishan, Sillu Karuppatti actress Nivedhithaa Sathish, Thunivu villain John Kokken, Merku Thodarchi Malai hero Antony, Malayalam actor Moor, among others seen in key roles.
