'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Annaatthe announced for a grand Diwali release on November 4 is one of the most-awaited films for the actor's fans in recent times. The upcoming mass masala family action entertainer will see the veteran actor amidst a rural backdrop and for the first time since his Padayappa in 1999. Directed by Siva and produced by Sun Pictures, promotions are in full swing with the makers on Saturday dropping the big announcement that Annaatthe has been given a 'U/A' certificate by the Censor Board.

Sharing a stunning new poster featuring Rajinikanth in one of his many iconic poses, Sun Pictures has announced that Annaatthe has been censored 'U/A' and will serve as a perfect entertainer in theatres this Diwali. The Annaatthe teaser that was released earlier this week has created massive expectations as it showed Rajinikanth in a full-blown action avatar, with fans continuing to share their excitement for the film on social media. Rajinikanth will also be looking to hit the bullseye once again, especially after his Darbar released last year did not exactly fare as well as he had hoped. Annaatthe has all the signs of a sure-fire blockbuster considering Sun Pictures has left no stone unturned in the past in their previous collaborations with Rajinikanth namely Enthiran (2010) and Petta (2019) and the prestigious production banner are once again doing the same now with their latest film, which arrives in theatres in less than three weeks time. Check out Sun Pictures' announcement below:

Annaatthe is a multi-starrer and has several big names on board, who were not shown in the film's teaser, with expectations that a trailer will be coming out soon next. The film will see Rajinikanth sharing screen space with actresses Khushbu and Meena after two decades, followed by Nayanthara playing Rajinikanth's love interest and National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh reportedly cast as his sister. Annaatthe also includes a talented supporting cast featuring names like Prakash Raj, Soori, Sathish, Jagapathi Babu, Abhimanyu Singh, and several others, with chartbuster composer D. Imman also being one of the major USPs. Imman's songs released so far, including the theme track have received a staggering response from fans and all eyes are now set on the Annaatthe album, which will be launched soon.
