Modern Love Chennai is an anthology film that is set to release on the OTT streaming platform Prime Video. It is the next project of Thiagarajan Kumararaja after Super Deluxe as he is the creative producer of the anthology that has six films directed by six filmmakers. It has segments directed by veteran director Bharathiraja after a long time, Vazhakku Enn 18/9 fame Balaji Sakthivel, Krishnakumar Ramakumar, Raja Murugan, Akshay Sundher and Thiagaraja Kumaraja. The film also has music composed by Isaignani Ilayaraja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, G. V. Prakash Kumar and Sean Roldan.
For the release of the trailer of the anthology Modern Love Chennai, The cast and crew of the project addressed the press and public. During the event, Thiagarajan Kumararaja shared some interesting details about the project. He said that Modern love originated from the set of articles that were written by the readers of the New York Times. They first they selected eight stores set in New York and released it as a web-series, for the second season they expanded from the amercial city and they chose three languages in India, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, explained the director.
“These are not the same 8 articles, these are different ones. So we got access to the articles and my team read all of them and picked which they thought will do were filtered and six were selected. What I thought was how we can change the stories that’s set in New York to the stories of Chennai. So, I had the idea (of changing it for) this land and the people of this land, and so we changed the stories to different areas of the city. I was not interested in going for more experimental love stories, but I wanted to push boundaries in conventional love stories", said the director Thiagarajan Kumararaja about Modern Love.
