Sukhwinder sings his way to Hollywood
Sukhwinder Singh, the rustic voice of films who entered everyone’s heart with 'Chaiyya Chaiyaa' in Uyire (Tamil version of Mani Ratnam’s Dile se), will sing for a Spielberg film to be made on Denzel Washington. Universal Pictures produces this yet-to-be-titled film, in which Sukhwinder will sing a song similar to folk songs of Kutch, Gujarat. It is to be noted that ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ was earlier used in Hollywood director Spike Lee’s Inside Man.
Sukhwinder Singh grew from a small-time Punjabi pop singer to a renowned singer recognized worldwide because of his talent and unique voice. A.R. Rahman, who discovered the hidden potential in him, has played a vital role in his success.
