State awards committee formed

The committee members for selecting the State award winners in films for the period 2007-08 have been appointed recently. The committee is headed by senior actor-director C.R Simha. The other members of the committee include directors Kesari Haravu and Anand P. Raju, cinema journalist K.S. Vasu, theatre personality Malathi Sudhir, popular singer Rathnamala Prakash, cameraman Ashok Naidu, producer of Simhadriya Simha Vijayakumar and popular comedy actor Sanketh Kashi.

The first meeting of the committee will be held on December 22. More than 40 films are participating in different segments. Apart from the usual awards, the committee will also decide the winners for Dr. Rajkumar award and Puttanna Kanagal award.
