State Archaeology Department issues notice to KBL makers

Kotha Bangaru Lokam (KBL), starring Varun Sandesh (of Happy Days fame) and ex-child star Swetha Prasad (Makdee & Iqbal,Hindi), directed by Srikanth Addala, was produced by Dil Raju. The movie, a simple yet complex look at love from the point of view of both parents and protagonists has captured the imagination of Telugu audiences the world over. The spirit of the movie is in tune with the present generation's angst and parents' helplessness in the face of their children's fancies.

The makers of KBL have run into trouble with the State Archaeology Department as the officials there suddenly woke up to the fact that some parts of the movie were filmed at the Buddhist excavations near Vishakapatnam without obtaining permission from the State Archeology Department. The department will be issuing a notice to the producer in this regard. To add to Dil Raju's woes, a voluntary organization hasjoined the bandwagon by criticizing the film's makers for shooting song sequences in a spiritual location.

This is not the first orlast time that the Archaeology Department has been caught napping by such incidents. The lack of proper communication and facilities at the historical excavation sites (which provide rich knowledge about India's heritage) leads to negligence where a film crew ortourist party can trample all over these ancient and historically significant sites without proper supervision.
