Sona: The outspoken artist
Sona floored reporters with her candid behaviour in a press meet on July 23, 2008. The star, who mesmerized everyone with her beauty and sexiness, revealed her open nature, free of hypocrisy. The beauty who sizzled in Sivappathigaram and Mirugam has touched new heights of glamour in Pathu Pathu.
The interview started with questions asking if she is an Anglo-Indian. Sona replied that her father is French and her mother is Sri Lankan, but she was brought up in Nagercoil which is the reason for her fluency in Tamil.
When questioned about her amorous role in Pathu Pathu, she said that it was governed by the script of the film and that she has no qualms about acting in glamorous roles. When asked if she would go beyond the level of skin show she has done in Pathu Pathu, she replied that if the script demands it and she deems it appropriate, she will definitely do it.
Then the actress spoke about her love life. She revealed that she had a boyfriend for six years but has now broken up with him. She also said that she prefers to be without a boyfriend as she thinks a boyfriend is a hindrance to stardom. When an eager reporter wanted to know her beauty secret, she quipped she smiles away her blues and that keeps her beautiful.
Then the beautiful actress spoke about her beautiful experience of working with Rajinikanth in Kuselan. She kept her words to a minimum and did not harp on working with a big star like Rajni for long. She said how awe-inspiring Rajni is because of his simplicity and humility. She also said that Rajni advised her to work hard and to be cautious always.
To a question which many stars try to evade or give diplomatic answers, Sona gave a clear answer without mincing any words. When a reporter asked her who is her favourite star in Kollywood, pat came the reply – Arya. The actress said that Arya is also her good friend; she admires the actor for his acting skills and for the gentleman that he is.
Following this, a reporter wanted to know if Sona would act in a kissing scene! Sona immediately said, “Yes, I will. But with only one actor.” Unanimously, everyone shouted “Who?”, wanting to know who the lucky star is. Sona declared that she would like to lock lips with Vijay, if he is willing!
