Silamabarasan TR has been on cloud 9, especially after the response to his Pongal release, Eeswaran, which took a grand opening in theatres earlier this month. One among the two biggies apart from 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master to kick off theatre celebrations once again, the rural action entertainer under Susienthiran's direction has turned out to be a box office success, with fans still amazed by the stunning physical transformation Simbu had undergone for his role in such quick time. STR, who since then resumed filming portions for his Maanaadu under Venkat Prabhu's direction, released a statement addressed to his fans via an official press release on Friday. 

Simbu's statement is as follows: 

"To my fans who are bigger to me than my own life...

Greetings.

No matter how many obstacles I overcome...
It is your love and affection that has always stuck with me. 

It was the reason for me to sign up on more new films and also served as a big motivation for me to reduce my weight and change my physique. 

You have given a huge response to Eeswaran, which we completed during the heights of the coronavirus pandemic. You have made it a success. 

Instead of calling you as my fans, it is only right that I hail you all as my family. 

I am forever humbled by your love and extend my heartfelt gratitude. 

On my birthday, I am supposed to spend the day with all of you. However, due to a few commitments that were planned out in advance, I will not be in the city on that date. 

I do not wish to see my family come and wait outside my house. So, I put forward my request to all my friends to not try to come meet me in person and be heartbroken at realizing that I'm not home. 

I will make arrangements soon for a meeting in person with all of you.

A multi-starrer, Maanaadu includes names like Kalyani Priyadarshan, SJ Suryah, S.A. Chandrasekhar, Bharathiraja among others, with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and STR revealed to be playing the role of a Muslim for the first time in his career. Simbu also has in his lineup Pathu Thala alongside Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalaiyarasan among others under Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame Krishna's direction, with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman. Likewise, STR will also be a part of Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh's new production venture under the Vels Films International banner to be directed by Gautham Menon. The project will be the third collaboration for Simbu and GVM after their Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada.
