The big day Silambarasan TR's fans have been waiting for is finally here and so is his treat for all those who have been sending their wishes to him on the occasion of his birthday today (February 3). The much-awaited first single 'Namma Satham' from the multi-talented star's upcoming film action film, Pathu Thala, has been released along with a video giving a glimpse at the magic that's in store for fans up ahead in cinemas when the gangster drama releases worldwide on March 30. Directed by Obeli N. Krishna of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame and produced by K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green in association with Jayantilal Gada's Pen Studios banner, Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman is the composer of Pathu Thala, who has also sung the 'Namma Satham' track along with Yogi Sekar, which has lyrics penned by Vivek and choreography Sandy master.
The Pathu Thala first single video gives us a glimpse of Simbu in dance mode amidst a temple backdrop and to the powerful vocals of A. R. Rahman, who once again elevates the tempo of the track with his powerful and unique voice. The buzz for the film has been massive ever since it was revealed that STR would be playing the role of a don named AGR, while Gautham Karthik is appearing as a police officer. The 'Namma Satham' song video also sees Gautham Karthik shaking his feet alongside Silambarasan to A. R. Rahman's thumping beats, while Malayalam actress Anu Sithara too makes an appearance.
Simbu and Gautham Karthik's characters in Pathu Thala are said to be based on the 2017 Kannada film, Mufti, starring Dr. Shivarajkumar and Srimurali, under Narthan's direction. Some other cast members in the Tamil version of the Kannada blockbuster include Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Kalaiyarasan, Teejay Arunasalam, Redin Kingsley, Manushyaputhiran among others in pivotal roles. Silambarasan will be looking to make it a hat-trick with Pathu Thala after his Maanaadu (2021) and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part I: The Kindling (2022) turned out to be phenomenal box office successes.
