Shobana staged her Dance Drama Krishna at the Krishna Gana Sabha on Krishna Janmashtami . When most sabhas in Chennai focus on Carnatic music, Krishna Gana Sabha focuses on dance. Talking about her play, Shobana says that it is not something extraordinary that she is doing as Krishna is a loved and popular icon in India. She has staged this dance drama twice earlier and this is the third time that she ia staging this beautiful experience Krishna, which brings together classical, folk and film dance together. The production is in an effort to spread Krishna’s philosophy. The dance drama also highlights some of the lesser known stories of this icon.
Veteran director K Balachander was the chief guest and the event was graced by maestro A.R.Rahman, Dr. Padma Subramanium, Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti and Y.Prabhu.
