Salman, Preity and a tractor!
The promos of the multi-starrer Heroes have begun flashing on every channel and one can see Preity Zinta driving a tractor in one shot. Not many are aware that Preity was petrified of driving that tractor when that sequence was to be shot.
A source informed, "Preity's character in the film is of Salman's wife; Salman is a simple farmer who joins the army. It was very important for her character to be shown driving the tractor easily as it would lend authenticity to her character. But she was simply not ready to do that. Director Samir Karnik kept insisting, while she was adamant that she would not do it. When Salman came to know about it, he intervened and assured her that in just two days he would train her to drive the tractor. Preity reluctantly agreed. And lo and behold, in two days' time, she was driving the tractor like a pro!"
If you are wondering how did Salman know to drive a tractor so well? Well, the Khans have a huge farm in Panvel (near Mumbai) and Salman often visits it. They have a tractor there and he rides it around just for fun!
