Resul Pookutty honoured in Kerala

Oscar winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty was honoured by the Government of Kerala at a grand reception on Friday at the VJT hall, Thiruvananthapuram. He arrived at Thiruvananthapuram Airport in the afternoon.

A huge crowd had gathered at the reception venue to greet the Keralite who brought the rare honour to the State. The reception was organized by the Department of Culture and the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. Chalchitra Academy chairman K.R. Mohanan welcomed him and poet O.N.V. Kurup felicitated Pookutty on behalf of the government.

Ministers M.A. Baby, M. Vijayakumar, Benoy Viswam, K.P. Rajendran, C. Divakaran, Dy. Speaker Jose Baby, Pannian Raveendran MP, Producers' Association president G. Suresh Kumar, Thiruvananthapuram Film Fraternity chairman Rakesh, KSFDC chairman K.G. George, MACTA Federation leader Baiju Kottarakara and many others presented mementos to Resul Pookutty.

"This is the grandest welcome that anybody can hope to get. I am completely elated. I can’t explain. I don't have words. It is an honour to technicians and cinema," Resul Pookutty said in reply to the felicitations. Pookutty will be in Kerala till March 13. During this period, he will attend several events across the State.
