Ranjitha at Kundalini Yoga Programme
Actress Ranjitha, who was in the news last year after pictures and videos showing her in compromising positions with godman Nityananda surfaced, is now making news for her tryst with Kundalini Yoga. She was the main participant in the Kundalini Yoga programme conducted in the Nithanahda Ashrama in Bidadi on Friday morning.
Ranjitha had stated that these pictures and video were morphed. In her complaint to Chennai city Police Commissioner J.K. Tripathy, actress Ranjitha, who had acted in the Kannada film Ayudha, alleged that Sun TV network and its sister publication Dinakaran had defamed her and portrayed her in a bad light. The complaint also included Tamil publication Nakheeran and one Mr. Lenin, a former associate of Nithyananda.
Later, addressing a press meet in Chennai, Ranjitha said, ”Sun TV network relentlessly breached my constitutionally assured privacy by spuriously obtaining a tape and claiming that it was me on March 2, 2010.”
She also alleged that some people had demanded money from her to stop airing the said videos. The case has now been referred to the Central Crime Branch of the City Police.
Last week, the Nityananda Ashram has also filed a police complaint accusing Sun Network owner Kalanidhi Maran and its top executive Hansraj Saxena of morphing and telecasting visuals showing the guru in a compromising position with Ranjitha.
Spiritual guru Nityananda was arrested last year after various channels telecast the purported video footage, which the ashram had described as a conspiracy to malign his reputation. Sun Network chief Kalanidhi has sought some time for appearing before the police.
