When asked about her experience working with director Nelson Dilipkumar for the first time, the actress Ramya Krishnan said, "I loved Kolamaavu Kokila. It was a stress-buster film. His comedy is unbelievable sometimes."

Ramya Krishnan then said the second film of Nelson, Doctor, is a go-to film when she is stressed. The actress then added, "How does he think of it? How is it so hilarious? It makes no sense, but it's so hilarious." When asked about the first meeting of the actress with director Nelson Dilipkumar, Ramya Krishnan said she had met the director at Vignesh Shivan's birthday party, and that is where she told him she liked Kolamaavu Kokila. "And then I met him at the Galatta Awards, where he said 'I am coming to meet you', and I said, Ok, fine, next he was here for Jailer story narration" said the actress.

The film Jailer will mark the third collaboration between 'Superstar' Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan after Padikkadavan (1985) and Padayappa (1999), where the actress played the iconic antagonist Nilambari. The glimpse released of Jailer shows the actress will play the role of the on-screen pair of the iconic star in the anticipated flick.
