Rajinikanth had pleural effusion?

The great thing about Rajinikanth fans is that they range from casual labourers to fellow film stars to bureaucrats to even state rulers. Today, Rajni's health condition is one of the most discussed issues in India and among the Indian diaspora. Some of his doctor fans, based on the reports emerging from the hospital, opine that their superstar might be admitted with a condition called "Pleural effusion", which is an excessive accumulation of fluid in the chest cavity and lungs.

The doctor fans also said that pleural effusion may be a result of a heart condition, liver cirrhosis or bacterial pneumonia, to name a few possible reasons. They believe that Rajinikanth's pleural effusion might be the result of pneumonia or a liver condition. The actor had undergone intercostal drain (the draining of the excess fluid accumulated in the chest through an insertion of a plastic tube to the chest).

Rajinikanth was shifted from the ICU on Sunday, and is reported to be doing well. Prayers and get well messages from the actor's fans are pouring in, and the officials at Ramachandra Hospital are having a hard time convincing fans, who are thronging to get a glimpse of their superstar.
