Rahman bought the Oscars: Ismail Darbar

Shocked? Well, Bollywood composer Ismail Darbar has alleged that music maestro A.R. Rahman bought the Oscar awards and did not deserve them. 

" I just don't understand how the music for Slumdog Millionaire won the prestigious awards. What was Oscar worthy about it? I would have been happy if he has won it for films like Roja or Bombay," he was quoted as saying.

Retorting to the claims of Darbar, Rahman told a daily that Oscars cannot be bought. "The Oscar jury is comprised of 3000 people... how can it be possible?" Rahman asked. Meanwhile, top Bollywood composers, including Lalit Pandit and Sulaiman Merchant, have openly criticized Ismail Darbar for his comments.

This sure looks like a pure publicity gimmick by Ismail Darbar!
