Raavan hits roadblock once again!

Mani Ratnam is busy with the final schedule of Raavan, and hopes to complete it as soon as possible. Trade analysts speculate that the film will be a Diwali release and the director is making all efforts to make sure that the cast and crew face no problems.

But despite taking all safety measures, problems seem to be surfacing every now and then from the most unexpected quarters. First, it was an issue with the forest department officials who did not permit shooting in the interior jungles.

Then, it was date-related problems from the lead artistes; then Mani Ratnam was admitted tohospital after he suffered a mild heart attack.

The latest issue is an elephant which played havoc on the sets of Raavan on Wednesday. When the climax scene was being shot in the jungles of Kerala, on elephant which were hired for a specific scene went out of control and created havoc. The elephant trampled his mahout to death anda unit member was injured.

Immediately, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, who were present nearby, were packed off to a safe destination and director Mani Ratnam odered the unit to pack up immediatelyto preventdamage of any life or property.

In the meanwhile, the Animal Welfare Board has issued a notice to director Mani Ratnam after this incident, stating that proper permissions were not sought to shoot the movie involving the elephant.

The entire team of Raavan is yet to come out of the shock, andstill hoping to complete the film in time.

We at Galatta hope that nothing untoward happens after this and wish the Raavan team the very best of luck, as director Mani Ratnam and his team have been shooting with a never-say-die spirit.
