Four months into this year, many interesting films have been released in theatres so far in Tamil. From the massive release of Varisu and Thunivu for Pongal, Dada, Vaathi, Ayothi, Pathu Thala and Viduthalai Part 1 in February and March, followed by August 16 1947, Rudhran, Yaathisai and Ponniyin Selvan 2 that was released last month. The makers of many anticipated have announced the release dates of the project including 'Superstar' Rajinkanth’s Jailer was announced yesterday. With many exciting films of leading actors in works, fans await to the official announcement about the release date of these films.

Galatta Media, one of the leading online media organisations of Tamil, did an exclusive interview with Dhananjayan. He is a well-known producer, an industry insider, and the founder of BOFTA Film Institute. He has revealed some exciting information about some upcoming films and recent releases. When asked about the upcoming festival releases that can be expected the year, the producer Dhananjayan said “Indian 2 is to be announced, Jailer is to be announced. Two films of Sivakarthikeyan are in line. Simbu’s Pathu Thala is out. Dhanush’s next film, which is Captain Miller is in the pipeline. All these films are in the line-up. In the next 8 months, many films are set to release. Now that, Ponniyin Selvan 2 has become a big hit. Over the next eight months, there are many big films in-line. Tamil Cinema will surely be better than last year.”
The makers of Jailer had announced that the film will be released across India on August 10. Two films featuring Sivakarthikeyan, Maaveran are set to release on August 11 and Ayalaan for Diwali.
