Police Quarters: True story

Remember Kuppi and its director A.M.R. Ramesh? The film dealt with the aftermath of Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination at the hands of LTTE terrorists. The film got noticed for its unemotional and unbiased stance on the issue and earned several awards for director A.M.R. Ramesh. Now, the director returns with yet another film based on a true story!

Tentatively titled Police Quarters, the film will present the dramatic events that took place in the lives of a young couple – living in police quarters in Bangalore – as a result of riots sparked by the Babri Masjid demolition. Ramesh plans to launch the film in Bangalore in the presence of eminent police officials.

Ramesh added that though he will retain his filmmaking style of pointing out stark realities in a dispassionate manner, Police Quarters will not be as dark as Kuppi, since it also involves a love story.
