Nisha Kothari has replaced Malavika in Karthigai. A few months ago, Malavika walked out of Karthigai, citing her pregnancy as the reason. She returned to the sets of Karthigai during the second trimester of her pregnancy with many preconditions which were accepted by producer Anjaneyalu. After a few days of filming, she walked out of it again, citing harassment by the producer. But the producer, director, and film unit had a different story to say. They even convened a press meet to tell their version of what really happened. They talked about the harsh treatment meted out to them by the actress even after they were considerate enough to provide all the facilities she had demanded. But the director of Karthigai said he was not aware of what argument Malavika and Anjaneyulu had in the caravan.
Nadigar Sangam tried to solve this issue, but all their atempts to develop rapport between the makers of Karthigai and Malavika failed. Malavika said she will return to acting only after a year. Now, Anjaneyulu has decided that he will replace Malavika with Nisha Kothari.
Nisha Kothari is not new to Tamil audiences. She acted in Jay Jay, which starred Madhavan and Pooja. She is known to Tamil audiences by her pseudonym Amohaa. But after Jay Jay, just when Kollywood thought it had yet another beautiful, demure, and promising actress, her tryst with Tamil films came to an abrupt end as she got immensely busy in Bollywood and Tollywood.
One might think how demure looking Nisha Kothari will fit in hot Malavika’s role! Well, we suggest you look at her work in Bollywood films. Boy! She defines the word “hot”! She is the latest craze of Ram Gopal Varma too, sizzling in RGV’s Sarkar and James. She was “red hot” in The Killer, starring Emraan Hasmi; then she acted again in her favourite director RGV’s Aag. She has done a lot of item numbers too.
So, do not go to theatres expecting the demure Amohaa that you saw in Jay Jay. Instead, take a lot of napkins to get wipe off your drool! Nisha is here!
