New Year Specials: Five best actresses of 2010

Galatta exclusively presents the five best actresses of 2010 (in alphabetical orders) based on their performance and their films' box office collections!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: If Mani Ratnam's Raavanan marked her comeback in Kollywood, Shankars's Enthiran gave her box office records. Aishwarya Rai has two big releases in Kollywood this year: Raavanan and Enthiran. And she is definitely one of the top actresses in India today.

Anushka: Be it in a bikini or traditional wear, Anushka always sizzles. She had two big releases this year: Vettaikaaran with Vijay and Singam with Suriya. Her Singam has declared as one of the biggest hits of 2010.

Nayantara: After a terrible 2009, South Indian actress Nayantara made a sensational comeback in 2010. Look at her career graph in 2010! With Boss Engira Baskaran (Tamil blockbuster), Super (Kannada blockbuster), Bodyguard (Malayalam superhit), Adurs and Simha (Telugu superhits), Nayanatara has become the first actress in the South to deliver hits in all four languages in a single year! Besides, Nayantara received a standing ovation from the audience at the IFFI in Goa and IFFK in Thiruvananthapuram for her spectacular performance in Electra (Malayalam), directed by Shyamaprasad.

Tamannaah: Pretty lass Tamannaah has three big releases this year: Sura with Vijay, Thilalangadi with Jayam Ravi and Paiyya with Karthi. Though Sura and Thilalangadi received mixed responses at the box office, her third film Paiyya, directed by Lingusamy, created wonders at the box office.

Trisha: 2010 has been a lucky year for Trisha too. She made her big Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Priyadarshan's Khatta Meetha. And then came the landmark films: Gautham Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya and  Manmadhan Ambu with Kamal Haasan. Interestingly Trisha also dubbed in her voice for the film and also sang a Tamil poetry like song with Kamal.
