Narrow escape for Chiranjeevi
Praja Rajyam chief and mega star Chiranjeevi survived a narrow escape when a high voltage electric wire fell on his open-top vehicle during campaigning for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections at Gauthamnagar area in Malkajgir assembly segment and narrowly missed striking him.
The police said his party workers tried to lift two dangling live electric wires with sticks after stopping his open jeep in one of the lanes of the locality. In their attempt to do so, the two wires came in contact and there was a big spark. Chiranjeevi, who was standing in the jeep, promptly ducked by which he had a providential escape. He later continued his election campaign.
His brother Pavan Kalyan also faced the same danger while campaigning for his brother in a Telangana district. He escaped, since there was no power in the wires. The incident however throws light on the danger caused by the dangling live wires in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and IT Hub.
