Nandita Das' top priority

Nandita Das, newly-appointed chairperson of the Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI) and the National award-winning actress, promised that she would bring maximum number of kids to the six dayGolden Elephant International Children’s Film Festival of India to be held in Hyderabad from November 14, despite the fact that kids are hooked to reality shows.

"My top priority at this moment is to attract large numbers of children from different regions and classes to the children’s film festival. I will try to include quality movies and renowned juries in the festival to make the festival more attractive. With reality shows attracting eyeballs, it is certainly a big challenge to attract children to the film festival. But I will try to make the festival interesting by bringing in quality movies which will attract large numbers of children," Nandita Das told reporters in Bhubaneswar.

Nandita Das tookcharge as chairperson from actress-social activist Nafisa Ali, who resigned last month to contest the Lok Sabha election from Lucknow on the Samajwadi Party ticket. Nandita'stenureis forthree years. CFSI is a nodal Government of India organization dedicated to providing wholesome entertainment for children through film and television.
