The 64th general body meeting of the Nadigar Sangam took place on the 8th of October and there were several issues discussed in the meeting. The one problem that is gripping Tamil cinema by the neck is the TN state government's levying on entertainment tax in addiotion to the GST. No other state in India has such taxation policies, our reports suggest.

Actor Vishal, the general secretary of the Nadigar Sangam told on stage that the Tamil film fraternity as a whole should voiuce against this issue. He added that this would be a slow deth for Tamil cinema had it not been stopped before it gets out of hands. In the meeting, Vishal also went on to point out that under the 'Paandavar' team's management, things have seen a positive change.

We sure hope that this meeting has come out with effective solutions towards the entertainment tax issue.
