Naanayam exclusive: How did Shakti get SPB on board?

Shakti, who has worked with the likes of Mysskin and Venkat Prabhu and is inspired by Quentin Tarantino's films, is all set to debut with a thriller Naanayam.

The movie, produced by S.P. Charan under the Capital Film Works banner, is all set to hitscreens. One of the highlights of the film is that S.P. Balasubramanium, who has entertained us with his songs and acting, returns to the silver screen after quite some time.

So how did Shakti convince the singer to be part of the film? When Galatta.com quizzed Shakti, look what he had to say:

"Gettting SPB on board was the last thing on my mind. I had offered the role to Charan first, but since he was also the producer, he said that he did not want to take up two responsibilities. It was he who suggested I narrate the role to his dad. I was nervous at first, but SPB sir understood the character so well and agreed immediately. He even suggested that I make the film without songs, but I was not ready to take such a huge chance, not yet!"
