Mythological movies will be great: Suresh Krissna

Director Suresh Krissna is justifiablypleased at the success of his recent Arumugam.
For him, the huge challenge was in making the audience accept the character of Bharath confronting a senior actress like Ramya Krishna. Viewing the film in a theatre to gauge audience reaction, Suresh said heis confident that he has succeeded in his effort to make a commercial cinema for the class and the mass.

For the ace filmmaker with hits like Baasha and Annamalai behind him, he is least bothered when criticscompare Arumugam with Annamalai and the Neelambarai character so effectively portrayed by Ramya Krishna in Padaiyappa. "Every director is entitled to his signature shots and I cannot be an exception," says SK, as he is popularly known.

What is his mantra of success? "You may have a mass hero but if the content is not right, the director is a proverbial zero. I am all for fulsome entertainment movies forfamily audiences which need not necessarily be niche movies. With the advantage of technology, it would be a greatidea to trymythological and historical movies," he said.
