Munna, soaking up the attention

For budding stars, recognition, evenin the smallest of ways, is always welcome. It does wonders to their ego, while also reassuring them that they have put their right foot forward in cinema. Young Munna, who by his own admission, wasted away in insignificant roles, has finally arrived.

His role in Kanden Kadhalai has got focused the spotlight on him; news that he’s on board Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, has only furthered his image in the South. “I was at a restaurant in Chennai recently, when a few people dining there walked up to me and asked me if it was I who had acted in Kanden Kadhalai. It felt great to be recognized,” confesses the smiling star. “Not even in my remotest dreams did I see myself working alongside Aishwarya Rai, that too in a movie directed by Mani Ratnam. I feel like I’m in a great dream, and am so afraid I’m going to wake up soon! I’m quite nervous around Mani Ratnam sir, but he’s quite patient and even when he does scold me, it’s only to make me push myself and test my limits. Someone up there is really watching over me. From here on, there’s only one way to go and it’s up,” adds the optimistic youngster. All the best with that!
