Moser Baer bags Pazhassi Raja home video rights

India's No. 1 Home Entertainment Company Moser Baer Entertainment has acquired the home video rights (DVD, VCD, Blu-Ray and other formats) of Malayalam blockbuster Pazhassi Raja. The offical confirmation came on Monday from producer G. Dhananjayan of Moser Baer.

"Moser Baer will be releasing the film in all formats of Home Video and also in Blu-Ray format for the first time in April 2010 across the world. Moser Baer is proud to have acquired the rights at the highest ever price in home video rights, considering the importance of this title in the history of Malayalam film industry," he said.

Notably, Malayalam general entertainment television channel Asianet recently bagged the satellite rights of Pazhassi Raja for a whopping Rs. 2.60 crore. It is the highest ever price paid for a film’s television rights in Malayalam, surpassing the Rs 2.25 crore record set by Twenty:20.

Pazhassi Raja, written by Jnanpith winner M.T. Vasudevan Nair and directed by Hariharan, is rocking the Kerala box office and is on its way to become one of the biggest grossers ever in the language. Its Tamil version was released all over Tamil Nadu last Friday.
