Hollywood is known for its mega superhero franchises set up in its respective universes such as the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), the DCEU (Detective Comics Extended Universe), etc. But there is another universe that is forgotten about until something about it comes up, which is the MonsterVerse. The MonsterVerse is an American multimedia franchise and shared fictional universe featuring Godzilla and King Kong. It is produced by Legendary Entertainment and co-produced and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. As of now, 4 movies are made as a part of the MonsterVerse namely - Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2016) , Godzilla: King of Monsters (2019) and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021).

For all MonsterVerse fans, the time is nigh, as it has been announced that 2021's monster brawl is all set to get a sequel. The details of the sequel have been kept under wraps for now but according to the government agency Screen Queensland, the untitled sequel to the blockbuster has been scheduled to shoot in Queensland, Australia. State Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has also said that cameras will roll later this year in locations across the Gold Coast and the southeast on the Legendary picture which will be the fifth instalment in its MonsterVerse franchise.

Last year’s Godzilla Vs. Kong managed to bank an impressive $468 million globally at the box office mid-pandemic, elevating the fans’ enthusiasm with neon-lit uppercuts, a trip to the mythical Hollow Earth with everybody’s favourite cheeky monke and a legit Mechagodzilla! We cannot wait to see what is in store for the world and how the makers will step up their game from their last incredible outing.

On the other hand, Apple TV+ are moving ahead with their own plans for the MonsterVerse with their spin-off series – Monarch, helmed by Star Trek: Enterprise veteran Chris Black and Hawkeye comics writer Matt Fraction. The show is expected to dig into the history behind its titular shadowy scientific Titan-studying organization. The series will take place in the aftermath of Godzilla’s battle with the Titans -- Mothra, Ghidorah, Rodan, The New MUTO (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism), Scylla and Methuselah.
