Blockbuster Tamil director Venkat Prabhu, who tasted massive box office success with his Maanaadu starring Silambarasan TR last year, is back with his next film, Manmatha Leelai, which is set to open in theatres on April 1. Produced jointly by Rockfort Entertainment and Black Ticket Company banners, the film is billed to be an adult entertainer and stars Oh My Kadavule hero Ashok Selvan in the lead role, who will be sharing screen space with Puppy heroine Samyukta Hegde, Mookuthi Amman actress Smruthi Venkat, and Seeru fame Riya Suman. Announced to be coming out in Telugu under the title Manmadaleela, the makers on Monday released the highly-anticipated Manmatha Leelai trailer, which is an absolute riot from start to end.
The Manmatha Leelai trailer shows Ashok Selvan as an eccentric casanova, whose life revolves around the company of the three women in his life - Samyukta Hegde, Smruthi Venkat, and Riya Suman - and the various trysts among them. The visuals tease a fun-filled entertainer targeted towards a youth audience and Venkat Prabhu is expected to justify the bold scenes teased in the visuals in his own style as he has done with his own comic touch.
Venkat Prabhu, who is known best among fans for his multi-starrers like Chennai 600028 films, Saroja and Goa, will be looking to once again hit the bullseye with his Manmatha Leelai. The Mankatha director wrapped up the upcoming film in quick time after he finished working on Maanaadu last year. Manmatha Leelai has been described to be a "fun quirky ride" and includes music by Premgi Amaren, with the rest of the technical team featuring names like cinematographer Thamizh A Azhagan, editor Venkat Raajen, art direction Umesh J Kumar and action choreography Stunt Silva.
