Ajith Kumar's Valimai released in theatres last month took a sensational opening and has turned out to be a phenomenal box office success, with the film announced to premiere on the ZEE5 streaming platform on March 25. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor in association with Zee Studios, the mass action thriller with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and a background score by Ghibran also included an incredible technical team featuring names like cinematographer Nirav Shah, stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan and art director K. Kathir. Likewise, editor Vijay Velukutty, who has been a key player in Valimai, took to social media to extend his heartfelt gratitude to Ajith, director H. Vinoth, producer Boney Kapoor and the entire technical team on the occasion of the film's 25th day on Monday.

Posting pictures of himself with Ajith from the Valimai shooting spot, Vijay Velukutty extended his gratitude in a detailed statement, which is as follows:

#Valimai 25th day

On the occasion of the completion of 25 days of successful theatrical run, I sincerely take this opportunity to thank, firstly, the Director, Mr. H.VINOTH.  From being a distant admirer of his Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran, to being a part of his core team in Valimai, is an incredible journey and learning.  Almost 2 years of close collaboration with him, has disciplined me more. His valuable guidance after composedly watching every version of my scene edit has upskilled me. 'Having spent ample time with you, than any other technician in this project, I've closely witnessed you willfully architecting the project through the tougher pandemic times. I express my heartfelt gratitude for your trust in me, Sir.'

During the Interval Action block shoot in Russia, I was there for the editing, where I got excited seeing Ajith Sir's energy, determination, efforts and focus, matching the professional off-road bikers. He smilingly, asked me, "how is the action shaping up in edit." I answered, "Never seen before, Sir" It is the same one could say about his positive charged demeanour too. 'Your blood and sweat in the action—bike chases, off-road biking, the bus sequence—are one of the major pillars to this entertaining outcome, Sir. And it was hard to not spill even one gem of your effort through the multiple takes in any of the scenes. Thank you, Sir.'

Producer, Mr. BONEY KAPOOR

Movies like Mr. India are a huge childhood influence for me. Those are one of the initial seeds sown to my interest towards story telling and movies. Being a part of the team in one of the biggest production companies in India is a bliss. 'Sir, your unrelenting efforts towards the project, and the way you accommodate freedom to the team's vision are rare qualities. Thank you Sir.'

Proud to have worked with the legendary technicians DOP Mr. NIRAV SHAH, Music Director Mr. YUVAN SHANKAR RAJA, Art Director Mr. KADHIRR, Stunt Master Mr. DHILIP SUBBARAYAN.

It was a challenging-magnanimous project. Each and every action took a month's editing. Especially, the bus sequence took more than two months of edit to shape to its final form.

Finally, I would like to thank my mentor, Veteran Editor Mr. SURESH URS, whom I assisted for over 70 feature films across all Indian languages, helped me handle this King-Size-Project. 'Thanks for this life, Sir.'
