Mirchi Shiva's long awaited horror comedy, Idiot has finally got its new release date and the official announcement regarding the same is out. Yes! Idiot will be releasing in theatres on April 1, 2022, as a summer treat for the fans. April 1 is Fools Day, and considering the genre of the film and its title, it looks like the team has made an interesting choice. It is going to be quite interesting to see how Idiot performs in the theatres since it is going to be released in between Rajamouli's RRR (March 25) and Thalapathy Vijay's Beast (April 14). Idiot is directed by Lollu Sabha fame Rambhala who has also directed the Santhanam starrer Dhilluku Dhuddu.

Produced by Screen Scene Media Entertainment, this horror comedy has Nikki Galrani playing the female lead. This film has cinematography by Raja Bhattacharjee of Pyaar Prema Kaadhal fame, while Vikram Selva and Madhavan have handled the music direction and editing respectively. Videsh is the art director of the film. Apart from the main leads, Idiot has actors like Anandaraj, Oorvashi, Akshara Gowda, Singamuthu, Ravi Mariya, Redin Kingsley, and Mayilsamy, in supporting roles. Mirchi Shiva's last theatrical release was Thamizh Padam 2 which released in 2018 and it has been quite a long time since the fans saw him in action.

The long wait will come to an end on April 1 with the release of Idiot. Apart from Idiot, Mirchi Shiva has various other interesting projects in his pipeline - Sumo, Party, Saloon, Golmaal, and Kasethan Kadavulada. Interestingly, the shoot of all these movies has been completed. The release of films like Party and Sumo have been delayed due to financial hurdles associated with the project, while Saloon, Golmaal, and Kasethan Kadavulada are the recently wrapped ones that are in the post production stages.
