A film that was scheduled to hit screens on April 9 earlier this year, 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master’s release has since been put on hold by Xavier Britto’s XB Film Creators, in view of the coronavirus pandemic crisis. Master had its audio launched on March 15 amidst much fanfare and celebration, with speculations thereafter that the upcoming Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial could make its way to screen as a Diwali treat. However, that was not to be as the makers had sometime back issued a statement that they would look at the coronavirus situation before taking a call on Master's release plans. 

Promotions were being carried out at an aggressive pace by XB Film Creators right up until the COVID-19 outbreak, with lyric videos for the songs, including stills and posters from the film being released on a frequent basis.The makers had also unveiled a special poster from Master on the occasion of Vijay's birthday, while also releasing the 'Quit Pannuda' song lyric video on composer Anirudh Ravichander's birthday last month. The hype surrounding Master has not dimmed down in spite of the coronavirus crisis as the songs in the film's album still continue to top the charts. 

Master, which will see Vijay facing off 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, who is the antagonist, has been a film fans have been craving to watch in theatres. With the film's release plan still unknown, thousands have been requesting the makers to release the teaser for the film for a long time. In that light, XB Film Creators have finally answered their prayers by announcing that the highly-anticipated Master teaser will be released on November 14 at 6 PM on the Sun TV YouTube channel as a Diwali bonanza treat. This massive announcement will surely come as delightful news for both 'Thalapathy' Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi's fans, who will now get to celebrate the Festival of Lights in a grand manner. 

Touted to be an mass masala action thriller, producer Xavier Britto and director Lokesh Kanagaraj have asserted that Master will only be released in theatres and stated that it is the only way the film ought to be seen. Master will also include Malavika Mohanan as the female lead, followed by Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, Gouri Kishan, Master Mahendran, KPY Dheena, Ramya Subramanian, Azhagam Perumal among others forming the supporting cast.
