Mammootty: Malayalam movies will never win an Oscar
"Malayalam cinema will never win an Oscar award. A movie running for Oscars should have a minimum of 15-day screening at New York and Los Angeles counties. Moreover, a foreigner judging the movie should understand Malayalam. If we’re delivering the dialogues in English, he should also be able to understand our English," Malayalam superstar Mamootty said during his address at the mammoth reception accorded to Oscar award winner Resul Pookutty by Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce at Durbar Hall Hall Ground in Kochi on Wednesday.
