Malyalam film industry woke up to the news of the sad demise of veteran actor Sathar. The actor passed away today morning at a hospital in Aluva. He was 67 years old. Reports state that Sathar was undergoing treatment for liver ailments for quite some time now. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 4pm at Padinjare Juma masjid, Kodungallur. Reports state that the actor had been unwell for almost 3 months now.

Sathar made his debut with the film Bharyaye Avashyamundu Samarppanam, directed by M Krishnan Nair in 1975. Since then he has acted in almost 144 films and most of them were Malayalam. He was last seen in the film Onnum Onnum Moonu, which released in 2015. He had even produced films like Revenge, Black Mail and Kambolam.

Sarath is known for his performance in notable films like God For Sale, Kaanchi, No 66 Madura Bus, 22 Female Kottayam, Roudram, Pakal, Arayannangalude Veedu, Kalapam and a few others. While he did a lot of hero roles, people loved him for his anti-hero roles too. Sathar will also be seen in Avarum Ivarum, which is yet to release. He is survived by his son Krish J Sathar, who is also a Malayalam actor.
