In an unexpected turn of events, Telugu Super Star Mahesh Babu's elder brother, Ramesh Babu passed away on Saturday, January 8. This news has come as a shocker for the Telugu film fraternity and condolence messages have been pouring in from all quarters. Prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry have extended their condolences to Krishna's family. Ramesh Babu’s demise was officially announced by his family through a statement in which read, "It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu garu. He will continue to live on in our hearts forever. In light of the current circumstances, we request all our well-wishers to adhere to the Covid 19 norms and avoid gathering at the cremation venue".

Since Mahesh Babu has tested positive for the Covid-19 Corona virus and is currently on home quarantine, he is unlikely to be present for the funeral event. According to reports, Ramesh Babu was undergoing treatment for liver ailments for the last few years. Unfortunately, he breathed his last yesterday, at the age of 56. Ramesh Babu is survived by his wife, Mrudula, and two children, Jaya Krishna and Bharathi.
