It’s been over 40 days since the nation has gone under lockdown following the novel coronavirus outbreak. Just like any other sectors, even the film industry is facing one of its worst crisis in decades. Even if the lockdown is released next month, it will easily take a few more months for the film industry to get back normal. Though it is the ideal time for OTT platforms to boom in India, even they are in search of fresh content. In the attempt to generate new content, a young team has joined hands to make an indoor Tamil film completely shot on iPhone. This project has been titled as Lockdown and it is directed by Aadhav Kannadasan.
Aadhav Kannadasan is the grandson of the great poet laureate Kaviyarasu Kannadasan. Aadhav is also an actor and writer, known for featuring in films like Ponmaalai Pozhudhu, Kaalidas and Yaamirukka Bayamey. We will have to wait and see how his debut directorial film turns out to be. It is quite exciting to see how they are going to pull this off by staying inside their house. Aadhav took to his Twitter space to share the first look of lockdown - “@andrea_jeremiah #ShotOnIphone Nee all your support friends #ShortFilm #Karthik #NithinRam coming soon.”
It must be noted that India’s superstar actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mammotty, Mohanlal and others came together for a short film called Family which was short in a similar fashion.
