The Disney Twitter handle has been giving out names of the stars who will be voicing our favourite characters and now we are hearing that Naani will be the voice of Simba in the Telugu version of the movie.

“I have been a huge fan of the Disney movie and I have fond memories of their iconic characters,” said Naani in a statement soon after the news came out.

Nani's sports drama Jersey was a massive hit and Karan Johar had recently bagged the rights to make the film in Hindi. The noted multifaceted artist had been an RJ once upon a time. His new character - Simba - is a childhood favourite of an entire generation.

Director Jon Favreau’s new version stays true to the original Lion King for most of the way, but for some brilliant changes in the way certain characters are portrayed.
