Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj issued a clarification on Wednesday, December 13, regarding his Facebook account getting hacked stating that he is available only on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, while urging fans to unfollow all other fake pages under his name across all social networking platforms. The blockbuster director wrote on X, "Hey all, I’m only available on Twitter and Instagram, I do not have or use any other social media accounts. Please feel free to ignore and unfollow any other hoax accounts!" (sic) This latest clarification from Lokesh Kanagaraj has come after reports began doing the rounds about a Facebook page under his name had gotten hacked raising concerns about digital security. The Leo director's statement about the cyber breach has quelled the confusion among his fans and followers on social media, who are appreciating him for his prompt response.

On the work front, Lokesh Kanagaraj is riding the wave after the blockbuster success of his Leo starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay in the lead role and featuring music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander. The action thriller film went on to become a raging money-spinner minting over 600 crores in worldwide gross collections while shattering several box office records. Leo, which is now a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), follows others in the franchise namely Kaithi (2019) and Vikram (2022) and became the highest-grossing film in Tamil Nadu.

With Leo turning out to be a phenomenal hit, Lokesh Kanagaraj is at present working on the script and the pre-production of his next big film, the tentatively titled Thalaivar 171, which will see him join hands with 'Superstar' Rajinikanth for the first time. Featuring music by Anirudh, the film is set to roll into production in 2024 and has been revealed to be not a part of the LCU. After Thalaivar 171, Lokesh Kanagaraj will return to carry forward with his world-building for the LCU with Karthi for Kaithi 2, and a standalone film based on the Rolex character with Suriya, while wrapping the franchise with Vikram 2. Whether Leo 2 will be made is unknown at this point and it now remains to be seen when Vijay will give his nod to appearing in a sequel as stated by the director himself at the Leo success meet back in November.
