"We will make Jallikattu happen, this is a proud moment for us, we have showed the world what unity is," Raghavan Lawrence said at a press note. He also requested youngsters to end the seven day strike against Supreme Court's order to ban the age old tradition. Following the strike, an immediate ordinance has been passed by the TN Govt but the protesters demanded for a permanent solution. Earlier today, a mob of police asked the protesters to leave but it ended on a clash.

Due to uncertain situation, Lawrence tried to mediate between police and youngsters but it ended in vain. In an urgent press meet, he also clarified that a permanent solution has been passed by the government. "While explaining the situation to students, a group of people started demanding different things. I tried explaining them that this strike was for Jallikattu and we have achieved it," he said. A crisis situation is persisting across the city and in many parts police are on high alert.
