Lalu steals the thunder from Shahrukh

Lalu Prasad Yadav is a name that will brighten up every face in India. Railway Minister Lalu is a charismatic political leader known for his astute decisions, wit and humour. He has the ability to steal the thunder from the most witty and charismatic people on earth. And that is exactly what happened when he took part in “Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?” Yes!!! Recently, Lalu Prasad Yadav participated in this game show, the footage of which will be telecast on July 27, 2008 on Star Plus.

He stole the thunder from the game show conductor Shahrukh Khan. For a day, the centre of attraction was our Railway Minister Lalu, not Shahrukh which was the usual norm.

Galatta.com brings you the news about this special show straight from the studios.

The sharp-witted minister won Rs. 1 crore in the game show, which he donated to the Railway Minister’s Relief Fund.

Straight from the studio: On entering the studio for the game show, Lalu looked a little nervous initially and admitted it too. He also said he felt nostalgic with the classroom-like atmosphere in the studio. Then as the game show began, his energy levels rose higher. His energy was infectious.

On being quizzed about his younger days, Lalu said he was handsome back then and had black hair, which he misses very much these days. But Shahrukh said he loved his present hairstyle and it was a hit throughout the nation. Lalu chuckled and got ready for the questions. Lalu answered all the questions with unbelievable speed. The show was interspersed with his sharp-witted comments, which even dumbfounded Shahrukh Khan.

Shahrukh Khan on the other hand brought out the child in Lalu by making him play make-believe games with the kids. At one point, Lalu played “the train” with the saviour kids on the show, who help the participants with answers. Shahrukh also made him reminisce about his halcyon days. The Railway minister – who lives a hectic life mostly behind the large green desk covered by books, ledgers, and computers – had a ball at the game show. He sang a Holi song, shared his ideas on life and talked about his family. While talking about Rabri, a blush emanated across the chubby and rosy cheeks of the minister. He said that Rabri is very sweet. He remarked, “Rabri toh khud hi rabri jaisi hai.”

Finally, he ended the show on an emotional note saying “Saare Jahan Se Achcha Hindustan Hamaara”.
